Round One

I've never had one of these before.  I'm not quite sure what to say here so I'll just kind of go with whatever comes to mind, yes?  Yes.

I'm sitting here right now with my girlfriend watching Sid and Nancy.  I know about the outcome of the two but I never actually sat down to read anything about the story of them.  If the movie is an accurate depiction of things that happened, then I may not have to check up on anything... but the ending just came and the cab just went so I'm thoroughly confused.  I guess I'm going to have to read up on it.

Today was a rather long day.  Rosemary and I got up around the same time but she left early to go with her sister Tracie to find shoes and a shirt (I think?) for her (Tracie's) graduation today.  I was trying to get a little bit more sleep but decided I'd rather play some video games.  Finished up some laundry, put Rosemary's into the dryer and sat down to finish up what I was playing when she got home.  She informed me that we would be leaving at noon rather than 1:00 P.M.  That threw me off so I tried to take a little bit of a nap and, after that proved ineffective, I got up and took a shower.  Got ready, talked to my boo for a little and then we left.

The graduation wasn't too bad.  It's what you would expect at any graduation: Bunch of bullshit speeches, false admiration for those who are graduating, reading of the names, a sore ass, and more bullshit speeches which, this time around, were cut short!  The whole ordeal lasted approximately two hours which really surprised me.  Outside, though, was another story as we sat around for another forty minutes or so allowing Tracie to talk to everyone that came.  I didn't mind, nor did Rosemary, but it was just too hot.

Tracie dropped us off outside of our apartment and I inadvertently left my cell phone in the backseat.  If I wasn't so tired I would have ran after her when she took off or something but the idea didn't really dawn on me until later.  Rosemary made fun of me.  We made it up the stairs and into the apartment where we had our long awaited popsicles.  They were pretty goddamn tasty, I'm not going to lie.

The way up to the after-party for Tracie's graduation was a pain.  We weren't given an exact address to where we were going so we were headed up on directions consisting of "turn right at New River, then right, then left, then right at Road Runner's, then right then left on Circle Jerkin road" which didn't help.  We hit New River and ended up going right past where we wanted to go.  If I had my phone we could have corrected our misdirection easily but seeing as I didn't have it, we had to go and find a gas station.  This a little known fact about New River that I only found out today:  THERE ARE NO FUCKING GAS STATIONS IN NEW RIVER SO YOU ARE SO FUCKED IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR ONE.  We eventually made it back to Carefree Highway, found a Circle K and then called Tracie.  We found our way after that.

Arriving at the after-party was awkward.  I've never been in a religious household before surrounded by previous group home staff and churchgoers.  I vividly remember walking into the house and wondering what the hell I was supposed to say.  Instead, I gave them a ridiculously stupid look and waved, almost tripped over a non-existent step, and then stood off to the side, pointing out that I didn't know there was a drop there.  The party sucked.  It was awkward, as previously stated.  I think we stayed there for a little over thirty minutes, then got the hell out of there.  Rosemary blew off people trying to talk to her and trying to take pictures of her, which was hilarious in its own right.

When we got home I made us some pretty delicious vegetarian sub sandwiches.  We sat down and finished one of her movies named 'Jesus' Son' which was strange but entertaining; I just need to see the whole thing now.  After that we started Sid and Nancy, which I started this blog off with the end of.  Nice.

We're now starting Forrest Gump.  I haven't seen this movie in years and I remember how good it was when I was younger.  It was so good that I can remember pretty much the entire movie in snap shots, but almost none of the dialog.  Dialog is something I've never been good at remembering, or movies in general for that matter.  I wish I could but I guess I'm just not that cool.

Next Friday we're going to go to the lake.  We're not sure which one we're going to go to yet but we're gonna find one with a nice, comfortable secluded spot and enjoy the day together.

Forrest Gump is taking all my attention.  Good night, blog thing.
